What we store.
And what we log.

BasisTrace is a reading and comparison site, and it behaves like one: no analytics, no advertising, no accounts. This page lists every piece of data the site can produce — there is not much of it.

01

No tracking of any kind

Public pages run no analytics scripts, no advertising, no social widgets and no third-party embeds. All fonts and images are served from this site itself. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share visitor data.

02

Your comparison list

Products you add to the compare tray are stored in your own browser’s local storage, so the selection survives a page refresh. It is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

03

Cookies

Public pages set no cookies. The only cookie this site uses is an administrator session cookie for the editorial admin area: it is created only when an editor signs in, is restricted to the /admin path, and never reaches regular visitors.

04

Server logs

Like most websites, our server records standard access logs — IP address, time, requested URL and browser type — to keep the site running and secure, for example to detect abuse. We use them for operations, not to profile visitors, and we do not combine them with other information.

05

Outbound links

Links to retailer listings are plain URLs: no tracking parameters, no redirect wrappers, and no commission is earned. Questions about this page can be sent to hello@basistrace.com.
